The MUS varsity golf team finished up the second and final day of the TSSAA Division II state tourney, held at Bear Trace in Crossville, Tennessee, with an incredible 302 to finish the two-day tournament shooting a team total of 602. Though this score is excellent, it fell just short, two strokes behind Baylor but sixteen ahead of ECS.
The first day the Owls shot a 300, putting them in first place, nine strokes ahead of Baylor. However, Baylor played excellent golf during the second round, shooting a 291 to win the state title.
Junior Bobby Hudson played consistent, excellent golf as he won the individual state title by six strokes, shooting a 70-70 – 140. Other Owl golfers who participated in the state tourney were junior Alex Snyder with a 73-78 – 151, senior Richard White with a 77-78 – 155, sophomore Daniel Brown with an 80-76 – 156, sophomore Dev Varma with an 85 on day one, and senior Peter Dale with an 86 on day two.
