Spence Wilson and Ben Merriman were elected this morning to serve as the 2014-15 MUS seventh grade Honor Council Representatives. Philip Wunderlich and Nicholas Hurley are are the eighth grade representatives, elected last spring.
The Lower School elections seek a majority vote in order to elect a winner. The slate of candidates is determined at Owl Camp by the Upper School counselors who observe the new students and their interactions among their peers. As usual, it was an excellent slate, and the elections were very close.
Pictured above are students withstanding one of many voting rounds whereby they were to have their eyes closed and hands raised for the candidate under consideration. Elections required all of the combined chapel and assemble time.
The eighth graders withdrew to the Wunderlich Auditorium as they rehearsed the fight song and hymn before being assigned their permanent Hyde Chapel seats for the year. All very exciting.
