Eighth grade head football coach Bobby Wade '84 addresses the full Lower School assembly Thursday, encouraging the boys to "play hard and have fun" in all that they do in life, striving to be the best that one can be regardless of what the man next to you may or may not be doing or is capable of doing. "Just be responsible for yourself, and have fun doing it with your friends!," he implored.
His message to the boys who play athletics was for them to try new venues of opportunity while they are young, investigating a multi-sport experience while in middle school.
Eighth grade students Jeffrey Ince and Edwin Shy celebrate their championship t-shirts among their peers. Coach Wade distributed t-shirts to the team and managers, including a commemorative one to the school suitable for framing.
It was, indeed, quite a successful season for the Owls. We sincerely thank all of our volunteer coaches and parents of the players, ASAP and Homework Detention instructors included, for their sacrifices and support of these boys. Without them we simply could not field a functional football program.
