Yesterday, we discovered some Lower School students in the varsity weight room after school. When confronted, they reported that they were just waiting for their 5:30 p.m. football practice. We reminded them of our fair and reasonable after-school policy, "At 3:40 p.m., ASAP or off campus." Being returning eighth graders, they knew the policy. Therefore, they now have the opportunity to become familiar with the United States Constitution as they copy a section in substitution for the Rules of Civility, this being an election year and all. #ClassicCounterMove.
Reminder: If your son wants to stay on campus either before football practice or as he awaits his afternoon pick-up, he should report to ASAP by 3:40 p.m. (2:40 Wednesdays), and parents will be billed monthly for the sessions he attends at $10/day. Need-based Financial Aid percentage applies.
School is out at 3:15. Some boys choose to go home then. Some go to the Hyde Library on our campus. Some choose to leave campus and cross Ridgeway to McDonald’s and return to ASAP by the 3:40 bell. These are your children. Tell them what your expectation is for them after school.
Instead of crossing the street, some boys bring their own after-school snacks. Some parents drop off snacks. Some boys get rides from parents and Upper Schoolers/sisters in order to go buy food and return before digging in to homework. Again, these are family choices.
We suggest the boys bring a snack!
