This morning, the boys separated into their grade levels for the purpose of nominating a final four slate of candidates to be voted on Monday for Honor Council representatives in the 2016-17 school year. Two representatives must serve at each grade level, next year's eighth grade and ninth grade.
The candidates are:
Drew Burnett, Hart Gowen, Akbar Latif, and Edwin Shy.
Michael Gayoso, Caleb London, Rob McFadden, and Ben Spiegelman.
Monday during regular assembly, these eight students each will deliver a two-minute speech before their assembled peers. Following each grade level's speaker slate, the students will initiate a smartphone vote from their seats which will allow us immediate, confidential results in real time. Students will bring and share their phones across the aisle as not all of our students have the privilege to access a $500 miracle of modern technology. We only need 105 phones in the room.
We are prepared to conduct multiple votes in order to achieve our needed majority victors.
All of this will be executed within 20 minutes.
Parents are invited to hear how the day went when they retrieve their sons at the end of the school day. Their cooperation is appreciated.
