The MUS Lower School Civic Service Organization planned and put together a successful 3 on 3 tournament on Friday, February 12. In total the tournament raised $250 for Perea Preschool. The entry fee was $5 per player, and 15 teams -- 6 from 7th grade and 9 from 8th grade -- competed. The seventh grade had an intense set of games that led to the following teams crowned as 1st and 2nd place finishers for the division.
7th First Place - Roderic Lewis, Ayman McGowan, and Edwin Shy
7th Second Place - Drew Burnett, Henry Nickey, and Wes Vanderslice
The eighth grade tournament was a thriller and the championship game came right down to the wire. These teams placed 1st and 2nd for eighth grade teams.
8th First Place - Edward Erb, Charlie Gilbert, Caleb London, and Charlie Street
8th Second Place - Bo Abbay, Blake Sexton, Connor Hamilton
After the division champions were crowned, the seventh and eighth grade placing teams played the final games. In a close game, the seventh grade 2nd-place team defeated the 2nd-place team in eighth grade competition to take 3rd place on the podium with no prize other than bragging rights. In a very intense game, the eighth-grade champs defeated seventh-grade champs in an overtime three-point shootout. After both teams made their 3's, Ayman McGowan missed his shot for the seventh-grade team, and Caleb London stepped up for the eighth-grade team and made his shot to claim the championship and a $10 Chick-fil-a gift card for each team member.
