The Lower School Debate Club orchestrated an outstanding Friday morning experience for their assembled classmates. Seventh grader, Michael Gallagher, (at podium) moderated the morning's order of service while also designing all of the promotional materials.
Eighth grader, Alex Warr (second from left) kept the debate front and center during Lower School announcements for weeks, meeting during lunches, preceding today's culminating performance as five students assumed the roles of five presidential hopefuls. Warr gave us an excellent picture of Republican candidate, Donald Trump.
Benjamin Klemis (8) as Ben Carson, like all participants, spoke for three minutes for his assignment, later answering a prepared question from the moderator. Later, he and all of the candidates answered extemporaneously from questions presented from the floor.
Arjun Puri (8) as Hillary Clinton
Inam Zafar (8) as Bernie Saunders
William Shepherd (8) as Rand Paul
In all, the morning was quite an impressive display of proficiency, planning, solid execution, originality, and civility. Congrats to all who helped pull of a signature MUS Lower School event!
