Volunteer opportunity for Lower School students: Forrest Spence 5K Run
What: Distribute cups of water to runners at the 1-mile table station
When: This Saturday, August 29, 2015
Where: Overton Park on the road just south of the Brooks Museum
Why: The Spence 5K Run raises awareness and money for the Forrest Spence Fund.
The mission of the Forrest Spence Fund is to assist with the non-medical needs of critically or chronically ill children and their families throughout the Mid-South. David Spence (MUS ’97) and wife Brittany established the fund after their son Forrest died after 55 days in the hospital.
Depart: At 7:07 AM from US Gym lot / 10:30 AM (US Gym lot) If preferred, a volunteer may be dropped off at 7:45 AM at the 1-mile mark of the course which is south of the Brooks Museum
Return: After breakfast at Perkins Restaurant (Poplar/Highland), approximately 10:15 AM Often, arrangements can be made for home delivery.
Means of Transportation: MUS Bus or a mode provided by a parent
