From player/coach Evan Mah ('09):
I would say that this weekend in Cookeville, TN was very fruitful.
After 12 hours of intellectual warfare, the Junior High team
tied for 2nd place (tiebreaker points dropped them to 4th)
and the High School Team placed 2nd. The High School Team originally
tied for 2nd but since scholarship money was at stake, a playoff
took place against Martin Luther King. 40 minutes later, we emerged victorious.
Both Jr. High and High School divisions comprised of 16 highly competitive teams,
most of them from East Tennessee.
Collectively, we ousted schools such as Martin Luteer Magnet School, Hume Fogg, Farragut, McCallie, and many others.
I was pleased that both teams were able to do so well. I was slightly disappointed that the High School team was unable to bring home the State title since such a thing hasn't happened for approximately 18 years (I think). It's my goal to win the State title for MUS and next year our chances are just as good if not better.
Once again, thanks for all your support. You have no idea how much Mr. Vogt (my partner in this endeavor) and I appreciate it.
