Greetings from Unofficial MUS Lower School Blog HQ!
Summer is progressing quickly. It's hard to believe that it's more than half over. Although I've enjoyed plenty of relaxation, I don't think a day has passed without my thinking about the upcoming school year; I'm looking forward to the opportunities and challenges that the new year presents, and I only wish I had more time to get prepared.
The 2006-2007 school calendar is online, and for those of you who share my travel bug, the important dates are 10/11-10/15 (fall break). I don't know where I'm headed, but Seattle, Japan and Hong Kong are leading candidates at the moment.
There's also a 3-day weekend for students on 11/4-11/6. MUS is co-hosting this year's TAIS (Tennessee Association of Independent Schools) meeting, so the students will get a day off while the faculty and administration meets with their counterparts from other area schools.
I've taken down the poll for summer as I don't have a pressing poll topic in mind; it will return in August. Also, I'm going to try to ask faculty members for brief summaries of their summers and I'll try to pass those along to you in coming weeks.
Enjoy the rest of your summer!
